The Venue
Set on the side of Mt Brown overlooking York and the Avon Valley, Laurelville is a beautiful turn-of-the-century Edwardian two storey residence. Set in three acres of gardens, Laurelville’s wide bullnosed verandahs, distinctive gables and elegant turrets provide the most romantic backdrop for your wedding day.
Your exclusive use of Laurelville and its grounds for the weekend enables us to provide the special care, attention and privacy you require.
Guests arrive on Friday afternoon in time for pre-dinner drinks and relaxation.
Spend an informal evening with your very special friends and family, with introductions for guests who may not have met before, or alternatively, spend the evening with your house guests and some last minute pampering before the big day.
We can provide a light supper or BBQ, or arrange for inhouse pampering services.
On Saturday, after a luscious Laurelville breakfast, the veranda suite provides total privacy for the bride’s preparations allowing you to have your hair and makeup done in your suite. The large ensuite, bathed in natural light, has a convenient makeup chair and the sitting room has an oversize clothes rail to accommodate the wedding party outfits without crushing and an oversize dressing mirror so that you can check the full effect of your gown. Soft lighting in the sitting room mirrors the effect of the evening lights at your reception.
A light lunch can be provided on Saturday.
The Ceremony
York's beautiful churches and Laurelville’s three acres of gardens provide stunning settings for your ceremony.
The Reception
Reflecting your personal style, the reception can be held simply, with tables on the lawn ‘under the stars’ (a glorious option on one of York’s clear Spring or Autumn nights), or in a beautiful silk lined marquee complete with chandeliers.
You can choose your own caterer (or we can arrange one for you), and drinks are BYO, so you can have the reception options that you love at a price that you can afford.
Afterwards
Complimentary champagne and chocolate await you in the Veranda Suite. On Sunday, take time to share the special memories with your family and friends over a late and leisurely Laurelville breakfast.
Accommodation
Laurelville has been completely refurbished by Kyla Colvin to create a beautiful, elegant and uniquely Australian country house destination. The supremely comfortable beds are fitted with fine Flaxfield New Zealand linen, luxury quilts and sumptuous Bemboka blankets made with angora and Australian merino wool.

Room 2/3 Veranda suite
Our beautiful Bridal Suite: Large ground floor veranda room, king bed, adjoining private dressing/sitting room with large dressing mirror and bridal dress hanging rail, flat screen TV.
Bathroom: Large ensuite with claw foot bath, shower, two separate vanities, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, hair dryer and straightener, makeup mirror, robes, slippers.
First floor
Room 5 Balcony room
Bedroom: Large individually controlled air-conditioned upstairs room, king bed with dual control electric blanket, small private balcony with view to Mt Brown, flat screen TV.
Bathroom: Ensuite, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, hair dryer and straightener, makeup mirror, robes, slippers.
Room 6 Twin Dormer
Bedroom: Individually controlled air-conditioned upstairs dormer room, twin single beds with electric blankets, flat screen TV.

Room 7 King Dormer
Bedroom: Medium individually controlled air-conditioned upstairs dormer room, king bed with dual control electric blanket, flat screen TV.

Room 8 Avon Room
Bedroom: Medium individually controlled air-conditioned upstairs room with views to the Avon Valley, queen bed with dual control electric blanket, flat screen TV.
Bathroom: Ensuite, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, hair dryer and straightener, makeup mirror, robes, slippers.
Room 9 Marwick Room
Bedroom: Large individually controlled air-conditioned upstairs room with views to the Avon Valley and Mt Brown, king bed with dual control electric blanket, flat screen TV.
Bathroom: Ensuite, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, hair dryer and straightener, makeup mirror, robes, slippers.
Up to 4 children can be accommodated and babysitters can be arranged if requested.
Accommodation for guests outside the house can be arranged with a wonderful set of accommodation providers within York.
Facilities
Guest areas include the billiard room with TV, the verandas with cane loungers and casual tables, the salon (perfect for your pre-wedding picutres), and the casual lounge/breakfast area with TV, FOXTEL, DVD’s.
Facilities include billiard table, games, magazines, books and bicycles.

- exclusive use of the grounds for your ceremony and reception;
- seven luxurious bedrooms and exclusive access to the guest areas of the house for the bridal party and selected friends and family;
- Friday night welcome, luscious Saturday and Sunday breakfasts, Saturday light lunch and in-house tea and coffee for Laurelville guests;
- full photographic rights to the house and garden.
